If your child or grandchild wants to tell you what they were told about what happened in Connecticut, let them tell you in their own words. They may be bouncing all over the place, but listen so you can help them sort it out. If they have false information or they are misinterpreted it, it will give you an opportunity to give them correct information on their level of understanding.
With my son having many struggles due to ADHD, Ive had to find many creative ways to combat different symptoms. Ive tried many different things. I will be sharing many different aspects and symptoms of ADHD along with different strategies Ive used to address them on my website at ADHD Ninja.Children love to create in the kitchen. Maybe its the sweetness of baking or the sheer fun of making a mess but my experience has been that Ive never had to ask twice for baking help. I have three children and they all vie for a spot around my mixer when its time to re-stock the cookie barrel or bake a cake for school lunches. It's really not hard to encourage kids to bake.
Moving is a great time to get rid of things youve been holding onto for too long. Your kids probably have a lot of toys and other odds-and-ends in their rooms that theyve outgrown. If theyre younger, go through their stuff with them and help them to decide what and how much to purge. Ask them to make a pile of their old, but gently-used, toys to donate to charity. If your kids are older, let them decide for themselves what should stay and what should go.
