You have no idea how much fun we could have with those little thing! It would go to shootout tournament from having a goalie outside of his net and a shooter that would try to make him do some nice diving saves.
If you are having a garden theme party, a wonderful kids goodie bag would be a small watering can with flower seeds, lace gloves, and costume jewelry. Blues Clues is a wonderful opportunity to teach kids the responsibility of pet ownership, while teaching that giving is the best part of receiving. Make arrangements with the local animal shelter ahead of time, for a party field trip (but be sure to clear it ahead of time with the parents, in case any guest has allergies or animal fears.) Play games with doggie treats (homemade or purchased) as the prize for winning, and after games are played, each child should have a small bag of animal treats. Enlist the aid of other licensed drivers, and take the party to the animal shelter, so the kids can share their prizes with the unfortunate, homeless animals.
Another thing that shouldn't be said to a child is "Don't bother me, can't you see I'm busy". Children seem to want to pounce on their parents the minute they walk through the door after work. The parent is tired and the kids are eager to share what they did at school or what happened during their day. The kids are not trying to get on a parent's nerves; they just want to be close to their parents. Parents do have other important things to do and a child's needs are non stop. However, it is important to spend time alone with your kids on a regular basis because children develop self-confidence from the attention and time spent with their parents. Instead of say "Not now" tell them to give you a few minutes go to the restroom, change your clothes and/or get a snack and then they can tell you all about their day.
