James: Parents are understandably very afraid of their children getting hurt and getting into trouble, but they have very little protection against these things as they send their kids out into the world. Kids learn from other kids and from the media, and it makes parents feel unsafe because they cant control the information and ideas that are being presented to their children.
6. Remind them of times they (athletes) did well, after a player has had a little time to get over their disappointment. Doing this immediately after a tough outing is not advised because they will not want to hear it right then.
2. Now gently say to them, "If you can hear mom, move a part of your body." At this point you are to watch the entire bed to look for any movement. The moment you see any type of movement that means their subconscious is listening and they are ripe and ready for your help. If you do not see any movement state the suggestion again, but this time using a slightly louder voice. This is usually all you need. (On the other hand please be aware that I have had several parents tell me that they skipped this step and it worked any way. My comment is to do what works best for you.)
