Playing with others engages a childs creativity, and encourages her to think abstractly. Kids also learn how to solve problems during playtime, and how to feel empathy for others. Additionally, children use their imagination and learn how to master new concepts while playing.
Auditory children like to hear appreciation so verbal praise and the warm tone in your voice and the words you use mean a lot to them.
An outdoor activity that each member can have a hand in is a pillowcase race. Each member can decorate their own pillow case in any way they choose. Use king-sized pillow cases for adults with longer legs and medium to standard sizes for the kids. An educational spin on this activity would be to ask each member to decorate their pillowcase to resemble some of the fastest animals on the planet like a cheetah or gazelle. Players can read the information and challenge each other to answer questions on their particular animal. Whoever answers the most questions will earn a head start at the race.
